Laurel Schweidel
Laurel (she/they) is a Bay Area native who loves to teach and perform. They graduated from UC Irvine with a BA in Drama and have taught improvisation, music, and songwriting through Bay Area Children’s Theater and the Willard Metal Shop Theater.
Laurel is an enthusiastic and empathetic teacher who strives to make the classroom a fun and safe space to play. She believes that improvisation has the capacity to teach foundational life skills to kids and adults, including celebrating failure, working as a team, and listening selflessly. She cares deeply about her students as individuals as well as students, and knows that quality arts education has the power to change lives.
When she isn't teaching, you can find Laurel improvising on her team at the Pan Theater, creating and performing original music under the artist name Laurel Hannah, and taking walks with her dog Leonard.
