June Nelson is an Oakland-based artist and designer who primarily makes clothes and jewelry, but loves exploring all kinds of different art mediums. She was born and raised in Denver and studied cognitive science and education at UC Berkeley. Loving the community and possibilities in the Bay Area, June has remained in Oakland since she graduated in 2020. She continues to draw and make various forms of wearable art based on her experiences and political beliefs, like upcycling used clothes into brand-new garments and repurposing vintage jewelry into something wearable. June believes that all forms of art, including traditionally prestigious forms like high fashion, should be accessible to everyone, and she works to share her artistic knowledge and materials with the world.
