Laynie is a multimedia artist based in Oakland, with a focus in ceramic arts, immersive experiences, murals, painting, collage, drawing, film and 10 years of experience teaching children. She organizes activities designed to allow students to connect deeper with themselves, the earth and others. She practices non-violent communication and incorporates these values into her role as a teacher, and when establishing rules in the classroom.

Being mindful of the impact of mass production, she aims to create pieces that are regenerative, reusable, or recyclable before buying new. She uses this philosophy to inspire kids to get creative when choosing their mediums, and being aware of the world around them.
